Gathers in Dress Front

1. Lower neckline 1/2″; then draw yoke line 2” below and parallel to shoulder and neckline.

Reduce 1/2″ at waistline, as shown by dotted lines, Divide curved part of yoke into 3 equal parts and draw 2 lines down as illustrated. Mark sections A, B, C and D.
2. Cut out front; then slash and close up darts to spread for fullness between B, C and D.
3. Allow seams. Make corresponding notches.

1. Lower neckline 1/2″; then draw yoke line, 2” below neckline. Reduce 1/2″ at waistline, as illustrated. Divide yoke line into 5 equal parts, and armhole into 3 parts; then draw lines from yoke to darts and armhole into 3 parts; then draw lines from yoke to darts and armhole, as shown by dotted lines.
Mark sections A to F.
2. Cut out front and separate yoke; then slash and close up the darts in front section to spread for fullness between B, C, D, E and F.
For overlap in yoke, extend 1” at center front and make rounded outline.
NOTE: The edge to be gathered should measure at least 1-1/2 times the length of the plain edge.
3. Allow for seams and make corresponding notches.

1. Draw square neckline; then continue line down 1” from center front and across to side, as shown by dotted lines. Reduce 1” at the waistline, as illustrated. Divide section A in 4 parts and armhole in 3 parts; then draw 3 lines from section A, as shown by dotted lines. Mark sections A to G.

2. Cut out front; then slash along dotted lines and close up front and waist darts, bringing sections A, B and C together. Spread between D, E, F and G for necessary fullness allowance.
3. Separate the front sections; then allow seams and make corresponding notches.
