Dress Back Design
1)Use dress back foundation to waistline only as a guide. Draw yoke and pleat lines,; then reduce 1” at the waistline and mark sections A to E.
2)Bring sections B and C together to reduce at waistline.
3) Separate yoke section from back; then slash along pleat lines, and spread about 1-1/2” for each pleat. Allow seams and make corresponding notches.
1) Trace back foundation and draw yoke and bust lines,. Reduce 1” at the waistline, and then continue slash line to yoke.
2) Divide back section below yoke into 4 parts and mark them A to E. slash along yoke line and down
to dart between C and D; then close up dart, spreading at top for part of fullness.
3) Separate yoke; then slash along dotted lines from top to bottom, and spread for necessary additional fullness, as illustrated. Add seams.
NOTE: the edge to be gathered should measure at least 1-1/2” times the length of the plain edge.
1) Trace back foundation; then draw bust line, and the lower seam line, as illustrated.
Reduce at waistline in 2 places,. Draw slash line from armhole down from armhole down; then mark sections A, B, C and D.
2) Slash along lower seam line and bring sections A and B together for the fitted lower back. Cut away reduction at side of section A.
3) Slash from lower edge to armhole between C and D; then spread for additional fullness, as described for the above style. Allow for seams and make corresponding notches
