BASIC PANTS Circumference of hem = 20” Outline basic pants sloper including grain line, hip line, crotch line and knee line FRONT PANTS A = grain line at hip A to B = 4 ½” A to C = 4 ½” D = intersection of crotch and seam D to E = 1” Connect B to E with straight line as a guide F = knee Connect F to D with hip curve ruler G = grain line at knee G to H = G to F I = hip line at side seam Connect C to H with straight line Connect H to I with straight line to finish pants front BACK PANTS J = grain line at hem J to K = A to B + 1” J to L = A to C + 1” M = knee M to N = G to F + 1” M to O = G to H + 1” P = hip line at side seam Q = intersection of crotch and inseam Connect K to N with straight line Connect N to P with straight line Connect L to O with straight line Connect O to Q with hip curve ruler to finish pants back
