Sleeve Drafting
3 STYLES – Sleeve with 3 darts at shoulder
1) Trace sleeve foundation; then mark 3 dots at top of cap, 2-1/2” apart.
2) Draw slash lines, and mark sections A to E.
3) Slash cap on dotted lines, and spread sections as illustrated, raising the sections 1-1/2” at center and spreading evenly at top for the 3 darts.
4) Draw V-shaped darts about 1” long to complete the sleeve.Sleeve with 5 darts at shoulder This style has slightly more fullness at top than the dart sleeve.
1) Trace sleeve foundation and mark 5 dots at top of cap 1-1/2” apart.
2) Draw slash lines as illustrated and mark section A to J.
3) Slash cap from top down, and across to the sides; then spread the sections evenly at top for the 5 darts, raising sections A to H 2” at center.
4) To complete sleeve, draw 5 V-shaped darts about 1” longSleeve with slash gathers at shoulder
1) Trace sleeve foundation; then draw the shoulder section 1-1/2” wide and 2” deep at center of cap. 2) Divide cap in half on either side of shoulder section and mark dots; then divide length of shoulder section in half, and draw dotted lines slightly curved as illustrated. Mark sections A to F. 3) Slash on dotted lines and spread the sections as illustrated, raising section C, 2”, and spreading about 1-1/2” between each of the other sections. 4) Allow seams and make corresponding notches.
