Cross Stitch Chair Seat

The Chair Seat was worked in cross stitch over two threads on Rustique 26 Count Dresden Linen, using 2 strands of cotton and was professionally upholstered because the chair had no base. drew the shape of the seat onto a piece of paper, added 8 cm (3″) extra on all four sides and used this as my stitching guideline. Cut your fabric at least 10 cm (4″) wider on all four sides than this measurement and tack the stitching guideline onto your fabric, Stitch the pattern to fill this area. When stitching is complete check to make sure you have stitched enough of the fabric to compensate for padding on the chair seat. Do not be thrifty with your fabric excess as you need a lot of excess to allow the upholsterer to do his job properly.
