Cross Stitch Fruits
Strawberry coaster was worked in cross stitch using two strand of thread on ecru 14 count vinyl fabric 13 cm (5”) square and was trimmed one square away from the needlework. Black cherry bax was worked in cross stitch over two threads using 3 strands of cotton on rustique 26 count dresden linen 18 cm (7”) square. The needle work was laced onto a padded card and set into the recessed lid of the box ( a hand made card was sewn to the outside edge of the needlework after it had been laced onto the card but before it was set into the box. Apples Placemat was worked in cross stitch using two strands of thread on Ecru 14 Count Vinyl Fabric 38 cm x 28 em (15″ x 11 “). A corner section was worked and a cross stitch border worked around the edge of the placemat. The vinyl fabric was trimmed one square away from the cross stitch and eight squares, away from the cross stitch border. Pears Coaster was worked in cross stitch using two strands of thread on Ecru 14 Count Vinyl Fabric 10 cm (4″) square and was trimmed one square away from the needlework. Blueberry Desk Pad was worked in cross stitch over two threads using 2 strands of cotton on rustique 32 count dresen linen 13 cm x 41 cm 5”x16) the needlework was then laced onto a piece of card padded with batting/wadding and mounted onto the edge of the wooden desk pad using double sided tape. The wooden desk pad was stained using wattyl color wood wood stain walnut brown and seal with a clear varnish. Red cherry magazine holder was worked in cross stitch over two threads using 3 strands of cotton on rustique 26 count dresden linen 15 cm x41 cm (6” x16”) the needlework was laced onto a padded card and mounted onto the spine of the craftwood magazine holder stained using wattyl cloor wood stain walnut brown and sealed with a clear vanish
