4 (4:4:4:4) * 50 g balls main Colour MC – Marble 2401

3(3:3:4:4) * 50 g balls contrast Colour CC – Procelain 2703

 

1 pair needles size 3.00 mm ( Canadian size 11, American size 3)

1 pair needles size 4.00 mm ( Canadian size 8, American size 6)

 

Or whatever size needles you require to achieve correct tension.

2 stitch holders

 

TENSION:

22 sts and 30 rows to 4 in, [10 cm], measured over stocking stitch using larger size needles.

TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK TENSION.

 BACK:

With smaller size needles and MC, cast on 94 (100:104:110:116) sts.

Work in K1, P1 rib for 4 in., [10 cm] inc 10 (10:12:12:10) sts

Evenly spaced across last back. 104 (110:118:122:126) sts.

Change to larger size needles and wor as follows:

Next row: With MC, K52 (55:58:61:63) sts; with CC,

K52 (55:58:61:63) sts.

Next row: With CC, P52 (55:58:61:63) sts; with MC, P52 (55:58:61:63) sts.

Continue in St st and colours as established in pervious rows until work measures 23 in., [58.5 cm] from beg, ending with right side facing fro next row.

 

SHAPE NECK:

NEXT ROW: K44 (45:47:49:49) sts. TURN.

Leave rem 60 (65:69:73:77) sts on a st holder.

Working on the 44 (45:47:49:49) sts, cast off 6 sts beg of next row for neck edge.
