Tension:
22 sts and 30 rows to 4 in., [10 cm], measured over stocking stitch using larger size needles.

BACK:
With smaller size needles and CC, cast on
104 (112:116:120:128:132) sts
Work in K1, P1 rib for 1 in., [2.5 cm]
Row 1: (Wrong side) Knit.
Row 2: Purl
Rep rows 1 and 2, once
Next Row: Knit
Change to larger size needles and patt as follows:
Row 1: (right side) *with CC, K2; with MC, k1;with CC, K1,rep from * to the end of row.
Row 2: with MC, P1; with CC, P1, Rep from* to end of row.
Row 3: with MC, K1; with CC, K3, rep from* to end of row.
Row 4: As row 2.
Rep rows 1 – 4, 5 more times.
With CC, Knit 1 row even.
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Purl
Repeat row 1 and 2
Next row: Knit.
Break CC.
Join MC and work in garter st (knit every row) until work measures 24 in., [61 cm], from beg, ending with right side facing for next row.
SHAPE NECK:
Next row: K42 (46:47:49:52:54) sts. Turn.
Leave rem 62 (66:69:71:76:78)
Working on the 42 (46:47:49:52:54) sts, cast off 6 sts beg of next row for neck edge.
Cast off 5 sts at neck edge every other row once.
Cast off 4 sts at neck edge every other row once.
Work 2 rows even on rem27 (31:32:34:37:39) sts.
Cast off.
Leave rem 20 (20:22:22:24:24) sts on the st holder for center back neck.

Leave 18 (18:20:20:22:22) sts on the st holder for center front neck.
With right side facing, join yarn to rem 43 (47:48:50:53:55) sts.

SLEEVES:
With smaller size needles and CC, cast on 52 sts.
Row 1: (Wrong side) Knit
Row 2: Purl
Rep rows 1 and 2, once.
Next row: Knit
Change to larger size needles and work patt as follows:
Row 1: (Risgt side) With, CC, K2; with MC, K1; with CC, L1 rep from* to end of the row.
Row 2: * With MC, P1; with CC, P1, rep from *to end of row.
Row 3: * With MC, K1; with CC, K3, rep from *to end of row.
Row 4: As row 2.

18 (18:20:20:22:22) sts from st holder for centre front neck;
20 sts up right slope of front neck;
17 sts down right slope of back neck;
20 (20:22:22:24:24) sts from st holder to centre back neck;
17 sts up left slope of back neck
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Purl
Rep rows 1 and 2, onc more time.
Next Row: Knit.
Break CC.
Next Row: Join MC, Knit
Next Row: Purl
Rep last 2 rows once more. Cast off.
To Finish:
Join left shoulder and neckband seam.
Match centre of cast-off edges of sleeves to shoulder seams.
Pin cast-off edges (to full width) in position.
Sew in position.
Join side and sleeve seams.
